Hi, I’m Olivia. I’m a writer based in Atlanta.
My background in journalism gave me a sharp eye for detail, while improv classes helped me fine-tune dialogue and timing. Both have shaped the way I build characters and stories, but nothing has molded my writing quite like performing for my five siblings in our living room growing up. We played a game called “Make Me Laugh,” like the Stand Up’s version of tag. One person stood in the middle of the living room to “be funny,” while the rest of us had just one objective: don’t laugh. Smiles? They didn’t count. But a full-on laugh? You’re it, baby. From an early age, chasing laughter has been one of my prime objectives, and I’m glad to find myself still chasing 15+ years later.
My work tends to pitch tents in two camps: one resides in the silly absurdity of everyday life, and the other in the hidden corners of the human mind. At the heart of both lives the same ending… surprise! For any Arctic Monkey fans out there: I refuse to take my hands off your eyes too soon.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually testing out new characters on my two bonus kiddos, who double as the most honest and entertaining audience I could ever ask for.
I’m actively developing original screenplays and seeking representation. More than anything, I love to tell stories that invite people back into that childlike, carefree joy that comes with a laugh straight from the soul.
